About the Role
As a Site Assistant, you will support the Site Manager in ensuring the school premises are safe, secure, and maintained to a high standard. This role involves a range of practical tasks and responsibilities, helping to ensure the school site runs efficiently on a daily basis.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting with the opening and closing of the school site
Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs across the school buildings and grounds
Supporting health and safety checks to ensure compliance with school policies
Monitoring and maintaining facilities such as lighting, heating, and security systems
Setting up classrooms, halls, and outdoor spaces for school events and activities
Supporting contractors during maintenance or repair work
Ensuring outdoor areas, pathways, and play spaces are clean and safe
Reporting maintenance issues and assisting with preventative upkeep
Experience and Skills
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience in facilities, maintenance, caretaking, or a similar role
Be practical and confident carrying out basic repairs and maintenance tasks
Demonstrate a strong understanding of health and safety practices
Be proactive, organised, and able to work independently
Have good communication skills and a positive attitude when working with staff and contractors
Be reliable and flexible in responding to site needs
Previous experience working in a school environment would be beneficial but is not essential, as training can be provided.
