Outreach Domestic Abuse Practitioner

Location: Coventry
Salary: £26,423 per annum
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm

Are you passionate about supporting women affected by domestic abuse and helping them move towards safety and independence?

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Outreach Domestic Abuse Practitioner to join a specialist service supporting women and children affected by domestic abuse across Coventry.

You will provide high-quality, person-centred support to women in the community, managing a caseload and helping service users overcome practical, emotional and social barriers. The role will have a strong focus on safeguarding, risk management, advocacy and empowerment .

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one practical and emotional support to women affected by domestic abuse
• Complete risk assessments, safety plans and individual support plans
• Manage a caseload and regularly review service users' needs
• Provide advocacy, advice and support around housing, benefits, legal and welfare matters
• Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns
• Make referrals and support women to access specialist services
• Work closely with statutory, voluntary and community agencies
• Support women from BAME/BAMER communities who may face additional barriers to accessing services
• Maintain accurate, confidential and professional case records

About You

You will ideally have previous experience within domestic abuse, outreach, IDVA, women's services or community-based support , alongside a good understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment and multi-agency working.

Knowledge of Honour-Based Abuse, Forced Marriage, FGM, No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) and the additional challenges experienced by women from BAME/BAMER communities would be highly beneficial.

You should be empathetic, culturally sensitive, non-judgemental and confident working both independently and alongside other professionals.

A full driving licence, access to a vehicle with business insurance and an Enhanced DBS are required.

Due to the nature of the service and the direct support provided to women affected by domestic abuse, this role is open to female applicants where an Occupational Requirement applies under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.
