Head of Information Management
£98k - £117.6k per annum As Head of Information Management, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how SSEN Transmission manages, governs, and uses information across a rapidly expanding programme of major infrastructure projects. You will build and lead a high performing function that ensures information is secure, compliant, high quality, and easily accessible, enabling safe and efficient decision making across a multi £bn portfolio. In this role, you will lead the strategy, systems and standards that keep our project information reliable and future ready. You will work across all directorates, with senior leaders, external partners, and project teams, ensuring data and documentation are governed effectively from project initiation right through to delivery. This is a chance to build a modern, digital-first information management capability at the centre of a business delivering some of the UK's most critical energy infrastructure.
You will
Oversee document control, data governance and digital collaboration platforms, ensuring they are well designed, well governed and support efficient project delivery.
Act as business owner for key information systems, defining standards, managing access, driving user adoption and enabling continuous digital improvement. This includes owning and implementing the digital systems strategy for project management delivery tools to ensure standardisation and consistency across the business and underpin successful, on-time and on-cost delivery of the c. £30bn capital programme.
Provide expert guidance and responsive support to project teams, ensuring information flows, records and documentation meet regulatory, audit and contractual requirements.
Build, develop and lead a multi-disciplinary team of information management professionals, embedding a culture of quality, continuous improvement and user focused service. Strong experience leading information management, document control or data governance in complex, regulated or large scale project environments.
Expertise in designing and governing information frameworks, including standards, metadata, digital workflows, retention and access controls.
Experience in configuring and managing enterprise information systems such as SharePoint, common data environments or electronic document management systems along with the ability to integrate information processes across key project functions to maintain single source of truth data.
Exceptional leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, able to influence across all levels, build trusted relationships, and drive cross-functional alignment.
A strategic, analytical and improvement-focused mindset, with the ability to identify risks, enhance digital capabilities and ensure information integrity across large portfolios. About SSE
