Are you an experienced LE1 or LE2 Overhead Linesperson looking for a permanent opportunity working across the SSEN Distribution Network?

This is an excellent opportunity to secure a permanent position delivering essential overhead line works across the South and South Central of England. You will be working on the construction, maintenance and refurbishment of LV, 11kV and up to 33kV overhead line networks, with long term workload and opportunities to continue developing your career within the power distribution sector.

My client is an established delivery partner within the utilities and power industry, supporting major programmes of work across the electricity distribution network. Due to continued workload and growth, they are looking to recruit experienced LE1 and LE2 Overhead Linespersons into permanent positions.
What you will be doing

As an LE1 / LE2 Overhead Linesperson, you will carry out overhead line construction, maintenance and refurbishment works across the SSEN Distribution Network.
You will be working as part of an experienced delivery team and will be responsible for completing activities safely, efficiently and in accordance with SSEN Electrical Safety Rules and relevant DNO procedures.

You will be:

• Carrying out construction, maintenance and refurbishment of LV, 11kV and up to 33kV overhead line networks.
• Undertaking live and dead network activities in line with your current authorisations.
• Installing, maintaining and replacing overhead line assets.
• Carrying out testing and associated network activities.
• Supporting vegetation clearance where required.
• Operating MEWPs, plant and specialist overhead line equipment.
• Following approved safe systems of work, risk assessments and method statements.
• Ensuring works are completed in accordance with DNO standards, CDM Regulations and company procedures.
• Working closely with supervisors, engineers and other members of the delivery team to complete works safely and efficiently.

What you will need

To be considered for this LE1 / LE2 Overhead Linesperson position, you should have previous experience working on electricity distribution overhead line networks and have held SSE Authorisation.

You will ideally hold:

• Experience working on LV, 11kV and up to 33kV overhead line networks.
• Current DNO authorisations for Work on Dead Networks and Live LV Working.
• SSE authorisations
• Pole Top Rescue and Working at Height certification.
• NRSWA accreditation
• EUSR / SHEA Power.
• NPORS MEWP and relevant plant tickets.
• Emergency First Aid or First Aid at Work.
• Manual Handling certification.
• Chainsaw qualifications would be advantageous.
• A full UK Driving Licence.
• A strong understanding of safe systems of work and risk assessments within high-risk electrical environments.
