Divisional Financial Controller

Salary: up to £80,000 + benefits, depending on experience

Location - Castleford & Manchester

PTSG is continuing to grow, and we are strengthening our divisional finance structure with the appointment of several Divisional Financial Controllers.

This is a senior and highly visible position, responsible for the accuracy and integrity of a division’s financial results. Reporting to the Divisional Finance Director, you will lead the month-end process, maintain strong financial controls and provide the clear, reliable information needed to support commercial decision-making.

The role

You will take ownership of the divisional P&L and Balance Sheet, ensuring financial information is complete, accurate and delivered on time.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the end-to-end month-end close

• Reviewing trial balances, journals and Balance Sheet reconciliations

• Reviewing performance against budget and the previous month

• Overseeing revenue, WIP and direct-cost accruals

• Producing the divisional results pack and supporting commentary

• Ensuring Group accounting policies, controls and reporting standards are followed

• Providing clear guidance to the business on revenue recognition, provisions and other accounting judgements, ensuring acceptable treatment

• Working closely with General Accounting, Group Reporting and the FP&A Centre of Excellence

• Managing and developing a team of Gross Margin Accountants

• Improving reporting through automation, AI and advanced analytics

What we’re looking for

We are looking for an established finance professional with:

• A clear ability to assimilate and summarise information

• Clear understanding of the importance of cash flow and working capital management

• A strong background in financial control and technical accounting

• A professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or equivalent

• A proven ability to lead month-end and financial reporting cycles

• The confidence to challenge financial judgements and influence senior stakeholders

• The ability and confidence to identify poor processes and drive improvements

• Strong leadership and people-development skills

• Clear communication and a collaborative approach

• A focus on accuracy, governance and continuous improvement
