Educational Excellence across Two Iconic Campuses

Since August 2023, King’s College Doha has been located in the districts of Al Thumama (Pre-Prep School) and Mesaimeer (Prep and Senior Schools), which are a ten-minute drive from one another, are easily accessible from most parts of Doha and are only a twenty-minute drive from the city centre.

Our impressive Al Thumama Campus is the only facility in the capital that caters exclusively for 3–7-year-olds, and includes a dedicated library, a central atrium, a STEAM lab, an art and design centre, music and drama classrooms and practice rooms, a Mac lab, a sports hall, an outdoor 25-metre pool with learner area, and outdoor games courts.

The Mesaimeer Campus, opened in August 2023 and was designed by award-winning architects to offer the highest quality facilities and learning environment for older children in the city.

These includes a state-of-the-art Performing Arts and Media Centre, a 17,000m² Sports Academy including a double sports hall, swimming pool, dance studio and fitness suite, basketball and tennis courts, an Art and Design Centre and an inspiring STEAM Centre.

Role Overview:

King’s College Doha is seeking a dynamic and passionate Business Studies Teacher to join our Senior School team, teaching pupils from Years 10 to 13 . The successful candidate may also take on the role of Form Tutor .

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning

• Deliver well-planned, engaging, and creative lessons tailored to the needs of all pupils.

• Foster a passion for Business Studies and a culture of high expectations.

• Collaborate with the department to plan curriculum and schemes of work.

• Work with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure subject provision aligns with the school’s development plan and assessment standards.

• Set challenging learning goals, using varied strategies, resources, and technologies.

• Provide regular feedback and encourage pupils to reflect and act on it.

• Support pupils academically as required, including preparation for external examinations.

Pastoral and Wider School Life

• Undertake pastoral and supervisory duties as required.

• Attend assemblies, departmental meetings, parents’ evenings, school functions, and other staff events.

• Act as a positive role model and contribute to the school’s image and ethos.

• Participate in extra-curricular activities, school-organised events, and enrichment programs.

Curriculum Development

• Develop high-quality, creative subject-specific activities.

• Assist in sourcing and managing teaching resources.

• Ensure vertical and horizontal curriculum articulation.

• Analyse and act on assessment data to ensure outstanding pupil progress.

• Regularly review teaching practice and take responsibility for professional development.

Person Specification

• Excellent working knowledge of the UK National Curriculum or equivalent.(E)

• High levels of subject knowledge in Business Studies.(E)

• A minimum of two years’ relevant teaching experience.(E)

• A good degree from a recognised university.(E)

• PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification.(E)

• Strong organisational, administrative, and communication skills.(E)

• Ability to inspire pupils and foster a love of learning.(E)

• Willingness to contribute fully to all aspects of school life. (E)

• Experience teaching pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL).(D)

• Experience working in the independent school sector.(D)

• Emerging leadership qualities and potential for future leadership roles.(D)
