Job Title: Lead Estimator & Contracts Coordinator
Location: London (site-based with some office work)
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 (depending on experience) + performance bonus
The Role
This is an estimating-led role that forms the majority of the workload, with additional responsibility for operational planning and compliance.
You will take ownership of site visits and quotations, while ensuring work is properly planned, compliant, and delivered to a high standard.
This role bridges the gap between enquiry and delivery and plays a key part in maintaining quality, efficiency, and profitability across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating (Primary Focus)
- Carry out site visits and tree inspections
- Prepare accurate, clear, and commercially sound quotations
- Identify risks, access requirements and constraints at an early stage
- Ensure the scope of works is fully understood before pricing
Operational Planning
- Plan and coordinate works prior to scheduling
- Ensure all jobs are properly prepared before crews attend
- Organise logistics including access, permissions and traffic management
Crew Handover
- Produce clear job sheets and instructions
- Ensure scope of works is properly defined and understood
- Prevent errors through clear communication
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure all works comply with relevant legislation and planning requirements
- Manage TPO and Conservation Area checks
- Maintain health & safety standards and Arboricultural Association Approved Contractor requirements
Site Audits & Quality Control
- Carry out site visits to monitor quality of work and safety standards
- Ensure work is delivered in line with company expectations
- Identify and address issues proactively
Commercial Awareness
- Price work appropriately and protect margins
- Identify risks to profitability early
- Support efficient and cost-effective delivery
Problem Solving & Communication
- Handle operational queries and issues
- Maintain clear communication with clients and internal team
- Resolve problems in a practical and commercially sensible way
About You
- Minimum 4 years arboricultural experience
- Level 3 qualification in Arboriculture (or above)
- LANTRA Basic or Professional Tree Inspection (BTI / PTI) preferred
- Strong understanding of BS3998 and planning regulations
- Experience preparing quotations and/or arboricultural reports
- Organised, proactive and able to manage workload effectively
- Confident working independently and taking ownership of decisions
- Strong communication skills with both clients and operational teams

Preferred Skills
