21.75 hours per week, term time only plus INSET days (8am – 3.45pm Weds-Thurs)
Pay Scale: Grade 10 £26,824 - £28,142 per annum FTE (£13,562 - £14,229 pro rata)
We are seeking a highly organised and professional Administration Assistant to cover a period of Maternity Leave in our busy and supportive administration team. This is a key role providing high-quality administrative and clerical support to the school’s leadership team and wider staff, ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the school office.
As a front-facing member of the team, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming, safe and well-organised environment for students, staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
• Act as a first point of contact, greeting visitors and managing the flow of people across the school site
• Operate the school switchboard, handling and directing calls efficiently
• Manage incoming and outgoing post and deliveries, including confidential documentation
• Provide first aid and basic medical support to students and staff, maintaining accurate records
• Maintain and update student records, including admissions, leavers and transitions
• Support attendance administration, including post-16 provision
• Manage administrative systems such as Parents’ Evening bookings and student payments
• Assist with free school meals applications and student bursary processes
• Support the administration of school trips and enrichment activities
• Undertake general office duties including correspondence, filing, and document preparation
About You
We are looking for someone who:
• Has experience in an administrative or office-based role, with strong data accuracy skills
• Holds an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration (or equivalent experience)
• Demonstrates excellent organisational and communication skills
• Is confident using Microsoft Office and Google applications
• Can handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
• Is flexible, proactive and committed to continuous professional development
Previous experience in a school environment and a First Aid qualification are desirable but not essential.
