Mechanical Assembler

Permanent Mechanical Assembler role with a specialist engineering manufacturer in Redditch. Due to growth and increased orders, the client is looking for a strong mechanical assembler/fitter. Duties include assembling and fitting precision mechanical equipment and components, working from engineering drawings and build instructions, using hand tools, spanners, torque tools and measuring equipment, building specialist tooling, hose assemblies, gauges and associated equipment, pressure testing and quality checking completed assemblies, inspecting equipment returned for servicing/annual inspection, identifying mechanical faults or assembly issues, completing quality/test documentation, and assisting with gauge calibration and testing. Strong assemblers/fitters from engineering or manufacturing backgrounds will be considered. Aerospace experience is not required. Calibration can be trained. Essential: hands-on assembly/fitting experience, ability to read engineering drawings, confidence with hand tools/mechanical equipment, good attention to detail and mechanical problem-solving. Desirable: pressure testing, gauges or calibration experience. Hours: Monday-Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm; Friday 8:00am-1:00pm. Pay: £13.50 per hour. Permanent.
