Salary: Up to £56,000 depending on skills and experience

Job Description:

You will be responsible for leading and supporting the management of Legal & Regulatory (L&R) requirements across the project, ensuring obligations are clearly defined, traceable, and aligned to customer and business needs. You will develop and maintain robust evidence of compliance, support formal acceptance activities, and provide assurance that solutions meet agreed technical, regulatory, and performance requirements. You will work closely with stakeholders at various levels to enable successful customer acceptance and project delivery.

Core Duties:

• Manage and maintain evidence demonstrating compliance with all Legal & Regulatory (L&R) obligations across the project
• Maintain and update records of applicable legislation, regulations, standards, and designated L&R owners
• Act as a key liaison between the project, Governance team, and Customer to manage regulatory changes and compliance information
• Support requirements management activities, ensuring compliance, traceability, acceptance criteria, evidence, and customer approvals are effectively controlled
• Engage with customers, suppliers, and project teams to resolve engineering issues, make decisions within delegated authority, and maintain professional competence through ongoing development

Essential Skills:

• You will have an academic qualification in a STEM related subject, and ability/willingness to become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineer through an appropriate recognised professional institution
• You will have good knowledge and understanding of Legal & Regulatory compliance
• You will have a good understanding of the engineering lifecycle
• You will have competence and capability with requirements capture and management software tools e.g. the Rationale software tools such as DOORS
• You will have good verbal and written communication skills

The Requirements & Acceptance team:

The Requirements & Acceptance team is customer facing, working to secure customer acceptance for all requirements and legal compliance relating to the T26 Frigate. This role will provide opportunities to be involved with all areas of the programme at an exciting period of the Project as equipment is installed on ship and is set to work in preparation for harbour and sea trials, leading to Vessel Acceptance and handover to the customer. In relation to legal & regulatory compliance, we are working towards specification and agreement of evidence which demonstrates that the ship is legal to embark on sea trials.
