We are working with a global professional services organisation delivering complex technology and transformation programmes for major international clients. You’ll join a specialist AI and engineering environment in London, working across client engagements and internal teams. The Role

As a Lead AI Engineer, you’ll combine deep technical expertise with senior client engagement to solve complex business problems through Generative AI and machine learning. You’ll shape AI strategies, lead end-to-end engineering delivery and influence how production systems are designed, evaluated, secured and operated. Your scope will span LLMs, RAG, generative architectures, MLOps/LLMOps and cloud platforms, while working closely with technical teams, business stakeholders and leadership. You’ll also help strengthen reusable engineering practices and guide cross-functional AI teams.

• Lead the design and delivery of production-grade AI and Generative AI solutions.
• Shape AI strategies with senior stakeholders and align technology with business goals.
• Design scalable pipelines covering data, models, evaluation and secure deployment.
• Oversee LLM, diffusion and other generative model development and operationalisation.
• Establish evaluation, security and responsible AI guardrails for production systems.
• Mentor cross-functional teams and influence reusable AI engineering standards.

Requirements

You’ll bring strong technical depth alongside the ability to influence senior stakeholders and delivery teams.

Must-Have

• Expert Python skills with strong experience across PyTorch, TensorFlow and modern AI frameworks.
• Hands-on expertise with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, vector databases and generative architectures.
• Production experience across AI/ML deployment, evaluation, security and MLOps/LLMOps.
• Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP and enterprise-scale AI environments.
• Strong stakeholder communication, technical leadership and team management experience.
