An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced, polished, and highly discreet Head Butler to oversee front-of-house operations for a UHNW principal based in a prestigious Mayfair residence. This live-out role requires a seasoned professional with exemplary standards of formal service, household leadership, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will manage and mentor two Junior Butlers while ensuring seamless daily service, immaculate presentation, and flawless execution of the principal’s lifestyle requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Household & Butler Leadership
- Lead, supervise, schedule, and train two Junior Butlers to maintain world-class service standards
- Establish and implement household protocols, service procedures, and quality benchmarks
- Oversee front-of-house operations to ensure the residence is maintained to immaculate standards at all times
- Conduct regular performance reviews, training sessions, and skill development for junior staff
- Coordinate closely with existing household staff
Principal & Guest Service
- Deliver exceptional formal and informal butler service, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, afternoon tea, and VIP entertaining
- Anticipate and fulfil the principal’s personal preferences with precision and discretion
- Manage guest reception, hosting, and personalised hospitality for private and corporate visitors
- Oversee wardrobe management, packing/unpacking, valet duties, garment care, and personal shopping requests
- Ensure all travel preparation is flawlessly executed, including luggage, wardrobe planning, and destination coordination
Household Operations
- Maintain inventory and care of silverware, china, crystal, wine cellar, cigars, fine art, and luxury assets
- Supervise floral arrangements, table settings, event styling, and special occasions
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and luxury service providers when required
- Oversee household maintenance issues and proactively report operational concerns
- Ensure security awareness and confidentiality standards are upheld at all times
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience in private UHNW households or luxury hospitality
- Previous experience as Head Butler, Senior Butler, or Butler Manager in a formal residence
- Strong leadership experience managing household staff
- Exceptional silver service and formal dining expertise
- Advanced wardrobe management and valet skills
- Fluent English preferred; additional languages advantageous
- Full UK driving licence preferred
- Impeccable presentation, discretion, and emotional intelligence
- Flexible schedule with willingness to work outside standard hours
- Eligible to work in the UK
