Job summary
You should possess lived experience of accessing the Mental Health Treatment Requirement service or lived experience of the criminal justice service. Under the supervision of a qualified practitioner, you will support the delivery of a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary community mental health service for individuals within the service. You will do this through providing emotional support to offenders and their families within the MHTR service to help them meet their treatment goals. Through sharing your own experience, you will inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible, helping individuals to feel more positively about their future. The role of a PSW has been developed specifically for people who have lived experience of recovery from mental health challenges and who have engaged in treatment from a mental health service as well as the criminal justice service. Applicants who do not indicate they have this lived experience will not be considered. With support from the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) your role is to provide support to individuals who are accessing the Trust, through appropriately sharing and drawing on their own lived experiences, to inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible. Due to the UKVI immigration changes we are no longer able to offer sponsorship for this role. Please provide details of the visa type and expiry date in your application. Failure to provide the required information will result in your application being rejected. Main duties of the job

You could be part of a Trust rated by staff as one of the best mental health and learning disability trusts in England. We firmly believe the key to high quality care is a contented workforce. This is reflected in our Care Quality Commission rating of 'outstanding' for well-led and 'good' overall. In the most recent National NHS Staff Survey, our staff rated us as the number one trust nationally for staff morale and one of the top scoring NHS Trusts in the Midlands for being compassionate and inclusive. We're really proud of this! We offer options for flexible working and provide a wide range of training and promotion opportunities in all professions.
