Building & Refurbishment Company – Rainham, Essex
2–3 Days Per Week (with potential to become full-time)
Established building and refurbishment company based in Rainham, Essex is seeking an experienced Part-Time Estimator to join our team.
Due to continued growth and increasing workload, we are looking for an additional estimator to support our existing estimating team and help keep up with demand. This role has the potential to develop into a full-time position for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will have experience pricing domestic property extensions from architectural drawings, as well as full strip-out and refurbishment works for a variety of commercial and healthcare clients.
Key Responsibilities
• Preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions
• Pricing domestic extensions and refurbishment projects from architectural drawings
• Visiting sites to gather relevant information required for tendering projects
• Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Producing take-offs and schedules of work
• Issuing tender documents to subcontractors and reviewing returned quotations
• Analysing and submitting tender packages to clients
• Maintaining organised and accurate tender documentation on the internal database
Project values typically range from £50,000 to £500,000+.
Requirements
• Previous estimating experience within the construction/refurbishment industry
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong technical knowledge of construction processes, materials, and costs
• Highly organised
• Professional and conscientious approach to work
• Punctual and reliable
• Smart appearance (business casual acceptable)
• Clean driving licence
• Ability to pass a DBS check
• Strong computer skills, including Excel and Microsoft Office
