The postholder will be responsible for the administration work necessary to take forward an allocation of all tasks carried out by the Admin team this includes but is not limited to processing permanent and temporary Traffic Regulation Orders, abnormal load applications, Damage to Crown property cases and third party claims. You may also be required to arrange car hire,hospitality, book transport and accommodation as required for colleagues and act as Requisitioner for any such orders through the Scottish Government’s electronic ordering and payment system.

- Manage and prioritise own workload to ensure tasks are completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Collaborate with colleagues to manage and maintain Directorate team mailboxes.
- Develop and maintain proficiency across all team functions and responsibilities.
- Provide flexible support by undertaking a range of ad hoc short-term and long-term tasks as required.
- Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the team and Directorate by supporting colleagues during periods of high demand or staff absence.
- Demonstrate adaptability and a willingness to take on new responsibilities to meet changing business needs.

Working pattern
Our standard hours are 35 hours per week and we offer a range of flexible working options depending on the needs of the role.
Transport Scotland staff in hybrid-compatible roles should aim to work in-person 40% of the time, either in an office or other agreed work location.
Security checks
Successful candidates must complete the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), before they can be appointed. BPSS is comprised of four main pre-employment checks – Identity, Right to work, Employment History and a Criminal Record check (unspent convictions).
