A forward-thinking and high-achieving secondary school in Sheffield is seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Geography ECT to join its successful Humanities department this September. The Role
Teaching Geography across KS3 and KS4, with the potential for KS5 support depending on experience.
Planning and delivering lessons that explore tectonic hazards, urbanisation, climate change, and global ecosystems.
Utilizing GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and digital mapping to enhance student learning.
Leading and assisting with local fieldwork activities to bring theoretical concepts to life.
Supporting pupils with GCSE examination preparation and data analysis skills.
Contributing to the school’s eco-committee and environmental sustainability initiatives.
Engaging in whole-school CPD and the statutory ECT induction sessions and observations.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Currently working towards or recently completed Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
A strong degree in Geography or a related Environmental Science discipline.
A passion for staying current with global affairs and environmental challenges.
Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire diverse learners.
A collaborative mindset and a willingness to engage fully with the school's mentor programme.
A proactive, organised, and positive approach to starting a career in education.
