Building Control Surveyor
£35.41k - £39.15k per annumWe are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious registered Building Control Surveyor to join our dynamic and successful Building Control Team.
As part of the team, you will:
- Undertake plan assessments, site inspections, and enforcement work across a wide range of projects, from small domestic schemes to large, complex commercial developments (subject to your registration class).
- Respond to and manage issues relating to dangerous structures, unauthorised works and demolition activities .
- Participate in the Council's out-of-hours emergency call-out service .

We are looking for candidates who:
- Only those with RBI Class 2 registration or pending registration with the Building Safety Regulator will be considered
- Are working towards Chartered Members, Members of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) or an equivalent professional body (e.g., RICS).
- Have experience in Building Control, with a strong understanding of Building Regulations, Approved Documents, allied legislation, and enforcement procedures.
- Are confident in dealing with dangerous structures and implementing enforcement action when required.
- Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and IT skills, and can work independently and as part of a team.
- Hold a full, valid driving licence and have access to a suitable vehicle for business use (or can demonstrate the ability to travel efficiently).
