This is a brilliant opportunity to join Better Health MCR, a leading and unique organisation working within Primary Care (head office: Rusholme) This role will be based at Brooklands Medical Practice. Ideally, we are looking for an experienced salaried GP to join our team, although for the right person we would consider a newly qualified GP.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.

To provide general practice consultations to patients and, where appropriate, physical examinations for the purposes of identifying or reducing the risk of disease or injury.

To uphold the principles of good medical practice as stated in the GMC statement of professional values and responsibilities.

The role itself involves being a (Doctor) Salaried GP. You will be required to work as an autonomous practitioner and be responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering excellent clinical care.

We aim to provide a good work/life balance, so we put you in charge of your day. You will have 13 consultations per session; you decide how and when to consult your patients: this may include remote working. You will have responsibility for your own patients, backed up by our onsite team of allied professionals. These include HCAs, Practice Nurses, Minor Illness Nurses, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, Physician Associates, Physiotherapists and Mental Health Practitioners.

Job responsibilities

The post is 4-6 sessions per week and will be based at Brooklands Medical Practice, although you will need to be able to travel to our other sites if needed. The usual working hours are between 08:30-18:00, Monday to Friday. You must be able to work on either a Monday or a Friday.

We aim to provide a good work/life balance, so we put you in charge of your day. You will have 13 consultations per session; you decide how and when to consult your patients: this may include remote working. You will have responsibility for your own patients, backed up by our onsite team of allied professionals. These include HCAs, Practice Nurses, Minor Illness Nurses, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, Physician Associates, Physiotherapists and Mental Health Practitioners. We work closely together and meet daily, virtually, to discuss pressing patient concerns and to share the responsibility of those with complex and sometimes chaotic needs. In addition, our Wellbeing team comprises Social Prescribers, Care navigators, Care coordinators and Health and Wellbeing Coaches. All members of staff are salaried.

Experience
Desirable

• Previous experience of working within an inner city environment.
• Previous experience of working in General Practice as a Principal, Locum or Salaried GP.
• Accreditation and experience relevant to additional/enhanced services.

Qualifications
Essential

• Eligible to practise as a General Practitioner in England, i.e. currently or about to be on the GMC GP Register with a licence to practise, and on the NHS Performers List.
• An understanding of the importance of good data quality and information governance.
• Good IT and keyboard skills with experience of using computerised medical record systems.

Desirable

• Holder of MRCGP
