Attendance & Admissions Officer – Secondary School – Enfield
Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Paid to scale
A well-established secondary school in Enfield, London is seeking a highly organised and confident Attendance & Admissions Officer to join its busy administration and pastoral team. This is a key role within the school, combining responsibility for accurate attendance monitoring with the efficient administration of admissions and student records.
The successful candidate will play an important part in ensuring that attendance information is accurate, concerns are followed up promptly and parents and carers receive clear and professional communication. Alongside this, you will support the admissions process, ensuring that student information and documentation are correctly recorded and that new students are welcomed and appropriately supported as they join the school.
This position would suit an administrator who is confident working with sensitive information, comfortable communicating with families and able to manage a varied workload. The school is looking for someone who can work independently, use initiative and maintain high standards even during particularly busy periods.
School Information
This is a well-established 11–18 secondary school in Enfield with a strong commitment to academic achievement, student wellbeing and personal development. The school serves a diverse community and works hard to ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed.
High expectations are established across the school, with clear standards around attendance, behaviour, engagement and achievement. The school recognises that regular attendance is fundamental to student progress and therefore places significant importance on identifying attendance concerns early and working constructively with families to address them.
The school also has a structured admissions process, ensuring that students joining the school receive the correct information and support from the outset. The successful Attendance & Admissions Officer will contribute directly to these processes and will work closely with senior leaders, pastoral teams and the school office.
The school promotes a collaborative working environment where support staff are valued for the important contribution they make to students' education. The successful candidate will join a professional team that values accuracy, communication, confidentiality and a proactive approach.

The Attendance & Admissions Officer will work closely with the school's attendance lead, pastoral staff, senior leadership and administration team.
Attendance responsibilities will include monitoring daily attendance, following up unexplained absences, maintaining accurate records and communicating with parents and carers. The admissions element of the role will involve supporting applications, maintaining student records, processing relevant documentation and assisting families throughout the admissions process.
