About the Role
You will primarily deliver a consultative outbound sales experience, proactively contacting warm leads to understand customers' business insurance requirements and recommending appropriate insurance solutions. You will maximise every sales opportunity through effective questioning, objection handling and relationship building, while remaining flexible to support inbound customer demand when required.
You will be responsible for achieving sales performance targets while ensuring every interaction is compliant with FCA regulations and Consumer Duty principles. Protecting the reputation of both Sensée and Hiscox through exceptional service, ethical selling and outstanding customer outcomes will be central to your role.
- Proactively contact warm leads through outbound calling to generate new business insurance sales.
- Flex between outbound and inbound activity to support operational demand while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Complete detailed fact-finds to understand customers' businesses, operations and insurance requirements.
- Recommend suitable business insurance products tailored to individual customer needs.
- Identify opportunities to increase customer protection through appropriate cross-selling and upselling.
- Achieve targets for Gross Written Premium (GWP), conversion, Quality Assurance (QA) and Customer Satisfaction (CSAT).
- Explain policy features, benefits, exclusions and pricing clearly and confidently.
- Handle objections effectively and use consultative sales techniques to maximise conversion opportunities.
- Maintain accurate customer records and ensure all activity complies with FCA regulations, Consumer Duty and internal compliance standards.
- Deliver consistently high-quality customer interactions that protect and enhance the reputation of Sensée and Hiscox.
- Work collaboratively with underwriting, customer service and operational support teams to deliver excellent customer outcomes.
- Be a brand ambassador by demonstrating Sensée and Hiscox values in every customer interaction.
- Undertake any other duties required to support operational performance.

Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven sales experience with a strong record of achieving and exceeding targets.
- Experience in outbound telephone sales.
- Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build rapport quickly and deliver a consultative sales approach.
- Strong objection handling and closing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple systems while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience working within a regulated environment or following structured compliance processes.
- Commitment to delivering outstanding customer outcomes.
- Attention to detail and ability to work within a regulated environment.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Insurance or financial services experience.
- Knowledge of commercial or business insurance products.
- Understanding of FCA regulations and Consumer Duty.
