About the Role
As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering a high‑quality, person‑centred education for pupils with special educational needs, in line with Company policies, procedures and the standards set by the Regulatory Body. You will create engaging and supportive learning experiences that enable every pupil to make meaningful progress—academically, socially and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver teaching for individual pupils or small groups, following the School’s Curriculum Framework and associated policies.
- Monitor, assess, record and report on each student’s progress, ensuring learning is appropriately challenging and personalised.
- Contribute to whole‑school development, supporting initiatives linked to the School Development Plan.
- Promote pupils’ educational, physical and moral development, in alignment with Company values and policies.
- Design and implement personalised learning environments and programmes that support steady and appropriate progression for each learner.
- Lead and coordinate subject areas or key stages, as agreed with the Head Teacher, including assessment and curriculum development.
- Create, review and implement individual education plans (IEPs), behaviour plans and other personalised support documents, working collaboratively with colleagues.
- Organise and maintain an engaging classroom environment, ensuring resources, displays and groupings stimulate learning and reflect pupils’ needs.
- Plan for pupil safety, adhering to risk assessments for all on‑site and off‑site activities.
- Support and guide Learning Support Assistants, Tutors and Instructors, ensuring they are well briefed and equipped to deliver effective support.
- Manage and support challenging behaviour, helping pupils progress from relying on external control to developing self-regulation.
- Work collaboratively as part of a multi‑disciplinary team, maintaining positive and effective relationships with all colleagues.
- Access opportunities for subject leadership, contributing to school-wide improvement and strategy.
