Job Description

My client is seeking an Ecology Project Manager to join a successful team of environmental professionals in their Surrey offices. The role of the Ecology Project Manager will be to supervise project permitting/documentation, field surveys and client interaction in the fields of biology or ecology and to assist in managing project teams on associated projects. You will assist project managers in production coordination, planning, organizing, directing, controlling, financial management, and marketing efforts. Job Duties:

Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing and executing project assignments.

Regularly manages projects.

Responsible for identifying clients, marketing programs, initiating, preparing and submitting proposals.

Plans and organizes the work of junior scientists, technicians and other technical and support staff.

Selects problems for investigation, developing novel scientific approaches and solutions to technical problems.

Conducts quality control checks, reviewing calculations, tests and reports for accuracy and completeness.

Plans and organizes the work of junior scientists, technicians and other technical and support staff.

Keeps abreast of state-of-the-art scientific methods and developments.

Recommends changes or improvements to scientific methods, plans and programs.

Regularly manages projects.

Conducts technical training and may serve as mentor to less experienced personnel.

Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

Requirements:

Minimum 8 years of environmental consulting experience

Minimum 5 years of ecology project management experience

Prepare written reports and permit applications (CWA, CZMA, NEPA, FERC, etc.)

NEPA development, including literature reviews and technical report writing

Hazardous material assessment and ESA compliance

Agency coordination- terrestrial and aquatic ecological field surveys

Waters of the US determinations

Threatened & endangered coordination

Stormwater Sampling and Investigations

Oversee project documentation

Client management services

Proposal/Cost Estimate Development

Quality control/quality assurance

Schedule & budget oversight

Administrative controls and responsibilities

Education requirements:

B.S./B.A. or M.S. in a field of Science including Ecology, Biology, Coastal Restoration, or related field, commensurate with hiring discipline.
