HLTA - Primary School

An established primary school is looking to appoint an experienced HLTA to become an important member of its support staff. The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality teaching by leading learning activities, delivering planned lessons when required and supporting pupils across the curriculum.

Located in Amersham, Buckinghamshire , the school provides a well-organised learning environment where teamwork, consistency and pupil progress are prioritised.

This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys taking responsibility, supporting colleagues and working directly with pupils to improve confidence and attainment.

Main duties

• Deliver learning activities planned by class teachers.
• Lead whole-class teaching during teacher release time.
• Support small-group and individual interventions.
• Work collaboratively with teachers to prepare resources and learning materials.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Promote positive behaviour throughout the school day.
• Encourage an inclusive learning environment for all pupils.

Essential requirements

• Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification.
• Previous experience supporting learning within a UK primary school.
• Good understanding of the Primary National Curriculum.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.
