The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Health Visitor working within the Inverclyde HSCP Children & Families Health Visiting Team. The role focuses on delivering a highquality, safe, and effective community health visiting service aligned with the GIRFEC framework. You will manage a health visiting caseload, ensure robust assessment and referral processes, and implement evidencebased interventions in partnership with families and multiagency teams.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
- Permanent, 2 post split hours
- Location: Inverclyde HSCP, Children & Families Health Visiting Team
- Work Pattern: Monday Friday, 8.30 am 4.30 pm
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a highquality health visiting service in the community.
- Manage and supervise a defined caseload, ensuring safe and effective care.
- Conduct robust assessments and make appropriate referrals.
- Use evidencebased practice to address identified needs.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to support children and families.
- Apply indepth knowledge of child protection and the GIRFEC/National Practice Model.
- Offer professional advice in multiagency settings, prioritising child safety.
- Lead discussions and make decisions in complex situations.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, service standards, and improvements.
- Maintain ongoing professional development.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- Registered nurse or midwife at degree level (or equivalent).
- Postregistration qualification in Health Visiting/Public Health Nursing (Part 3 NMC register).
- Educated to Master’s level or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge (e.g., NES modules in Assessment, Leadership, Critical Thinking).
- Strong understanding of legislation related to information sharing, data storage, and public protection.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, early intervention, and protection pathways.
- Skills in caseload management, strengthbased practice, risk management, and critical decisionmaking.
- Ability to use assessment tools to determine referral pathways.
- Commitment to continuous learning and development.
