Salary: £13 - £17 per hour (depending on experience)

Are you a reliable and hardworking individual with experience in site maintenance and school facilities?

GSL Education are currently seeking dedicated and proactive Caretakers to work in schools across Newcastle .

This rewarding role involves ensuring the smooth day-to-day maintenance and operation of school premises. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities of a Caretaker:

* Carry out general maintenance and basic repairs across the school site
* Ensure the school premises are clean, safe, and secure at all times
* Open and lock school buildings when required
* Conduct regular health and safety checks
* Support with setting up rooms and facilities for school activities and events
* Monitor and report any maintenance or site issues
* Manage cleaning supplies and site equipment where necessary
* Work collaboratively with school staff and external contractors

Requirements of a Caretaker:

* Previous experience in a caretaker, site assistant, or maintenance role is desirable
* Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures
* Good practical and DIY skills
* Reliable, organised, and proactive approach
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
