Reginald Gray is delighted to be partnering with a long-standing client to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
Our client is an established main contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality commercial fit out and refurbishment projects. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a major project.
The initial scheme is a 10m+ commercial fit out of two floors of office and laboratory space . Working alongside an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll gain exposure to all commercial aspects of the project while developing your career within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the commercial management of the project from procurement through to final account.
- Support the preparation of subcontract packages and procurement activities.
- Assist with subcontractor payments, valuations and variations.
- Help prepare cost reports and forecasts.
- Monitor project costs and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
- Assist with the administration of subcontractor accounts.
- Work closely with the site and project management teams to ensure accurate commercial reporting.
- Maintain project records and contractual documentation.
Requirements
- Experience working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
- Previous exposure to commercial fit out or refurbishment projects is desirable.
- Degree qualified or working towards a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
- Good communication skills with the ability to build relationships across project teams.
- Eager to develop and progress within a commercial role.
