Our special outstanding school is constantly growing, providing a supportive, nurturing learning environment for more and more children. Due to this expansion, we have an opportunity for you to be a part of a multi-disciplinary team of dedicated friendly Teachers, Therapists and Learning Support Assistants.
What the role involves:
You will not find yourself getting bored in this role! Each day in Post-16 brings new challenges, with both the College Link provision and the Employability provision. Your role may involve providing support in lessons for classes of students from either provision. You’ll also help maintain the learning environments, assist with administration and participate in pastoral sessions, developing professional relationships with students in order to support their learning as well as their social and emotional development.
Specifically in this role, you would be employed as a 1:1 for a 16-year-old young person with additional physical needs who uses a walker and occasionally a wheelchair. They will also require support with writing and some physical tasks during lessons. The successful candidate would need to support their movements around school; work with them in directed study; scribe, support with some personal care and have a good sense of humour. The young person strives to be independent and looks for a good rapport with their support staff. This young person will be attending our Post 16 provision five days a week.
The ideal candidate will have:
