Swimming Coach required for an August 2026 start

The English College, Dubai, seeks a positive, reflective and inspiring Swimming Coach to work in the PE Faculty and the whole School for an August 2026 start. The successful candidate will have a growth mindset and high expectations of all staff and students. They will be open and willing to learn; they will be expected to engage in professional learning with the mindset that everyone can always improve. We are seeking a professional who is passionate about encouraging students to grow and develop holistically - academically, emotionally, physically and socially.

With a rich, 33 year history, we are one of the oldest schools in Dubai. The English College is an established, independent, and co-educational British curriculum all-through school (EYFS through to Year 13) located centrally off Sheikh Zayed road at the heart of Dubai. We are very well-resourced with great facilities. Our state of the art STEAM centre opened in August 2025 and comprises DT labs, a graphics studio, a media suite and a robotics studio. In addition to this, our Secondary Building comprises 2 drama studios, a fitness suite, specialised art and music rooms and science labs. Furthermore, our Primary building benefits from specialist facilities to deliver computing, art, science and STEAM. Successful applicants will:

• Be honest, transparent and have integrity. 

• Have a recognised Level 1 and 2 Swim qualification from UK, US or Australian governing body, ie STA, Swim England, Austswim.

• Have a minimum of 4 years of experience teaching swimming.

• Experience of teaching young students from the age of 3 and beginner swimmers.

• Has experience working with competition swimmers and attending and organising Swimming galas and events.

• Holds a valid Lifeguard or pool rescue qualification.

• Be able to provide an ICPC and a UK enhanced DBS or equivalent police check.

• Be willing to contribute to the wider curriculum and support the vision of the school

• Have experience of using Swim timing software, excel and MS office.

• Experience communicating with parents in a professional and timely manner,

• Desirable to have experience coaching other sports.
