Swansea Bay University Health Board currently has a Band 5 vacancy for a Rotational Occupational Therapist.

The Band 5 rotation offers 40 different placements across a wide variety of specialties, including in-patient, community, physical, adult mental health, older person's mental health, learning disabilities, paediatrics, forensic mental health, burns & plastics, stroke, orthopaedics, oncology and palliative care.

We provide a commitment to training and education, including preceptorship, post-graduate study, and leadership programmes, ensuring the future of Occupational Therapy within the Health Board is strong and exciting.

You will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, the contract hours includes a 7-day shift pattern, with extended working hours covering 365 days of the year.

Due to the large geographical area that the health board covers it is an expectation of the role that you will be able to travel across sites to client's homes and community settings in a timely manner where required

Main duties of the job

• To manage a defined caseload, using evidence based /client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions where appropriate; hospital, community, patients' homes, schools, outpatient settings and maintaining associated records. To organise this efficiently and effectively with regard to clinical priorities and use of time.
• To ensure clinical records are kept to agreed standards and report accurately to others.
• To work in partnership with clients, carers and all stake holders including the multidisciplinary/ multi-agency team to identify relevant goals.
• To develop skills and knowledge through participation in the Preceptorship Programme and the Band 5 development and competency framework.
• The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

• Degree in Occupational Therapy (or other relevant OT qualification)
• Professional Registration with HCPC
