Ground Maintenance Operative

We are working closely with Southern Housing   to assist with the appointment of a Ground Maintenance Operative , on a 3-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay : £13.60- £17.75 per hour

Summary:

The Ground Maintenance Operative is responsible for delivering high-quality estate maintenance services that ensure communal areas, external environments and shared facilities are safe, clean, attractive and well maintained. The postholder will undertake a wide range of estate maintenance duties including cleaning, minor repairs, grounds upkeep, inspections and customer support across Southern Housing estates.

Responsibilities :

• Undertake litter picking, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, polishing and spot cleaning of communal areas.
• Assist with maintaining grassed areas, shrubs, hedges, flower beds and landscaped spaces.
• Report repairs beyond own competence to the Maintenance Team and monitor completion where appropriate.
• Ensure cleaning equipment and tools are maintained, stored safely and used in accordance with manufacturer guidance.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety legislation and Southern Housing policies.
• Act as a visible and approachable representative of Southern Housing on estates.
• Undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade of the post.

Qualifications:

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.

Essentials:

• Experience carrying out grounds maintenance, estate services, facilities maintenance or manual labour duties.
• Good practical maintenance and repair skills.
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance, grounds maintenance and property repairs.
• Understanding of health and safety legislation, safe working practices and COSHH requirements.

• You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
• You should have right to work in U.K
• This role requires a Standard DBS
