The role:

We are looking to recruit a compassionate and motivated Health Care Support Worker to join our Older People's Services team at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

As part of the multidisciplinary team, you will provide safe, effective and person-centred delegated care, supporting registered nurses to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.

You will play an important role in maintaining high standards of care and contributing to the smooth and efficient running of the ward. We are looking for someone who is caring, adaptable, hardworking and committed to delivering high-quality care with excellent communication skills.

This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Heath and Care Worker visa. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (COS).

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

• This is a permanent post working full-time hours (36)
• These hours will be worked 12.15hrs, over 7 days, day/night rotational
• You will be based within Glasgow Royal Infirmary

Key responsibilities:

You will provide safe, effective and person-centred care under the direction of registered nurses, supporting the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for older people. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to maintain high standards of patient care and contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the ward.

You will deliver care in an open, transparent and inclusive manner, ensuring patients are treated with dignity, compassion and respect while promoting a person-centred approach in all aspects of your practice.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

• Previous experience in a care or healthcare environment is desirable.
• Understanding of person-centred care and the needs of older people.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, caring and professional approach to patient care.
• Adaptable, reliable and able to work in a busy clinical environment.
• Committed to maintaining high standards of care and continuous professional development.
