Head of Finance

MERJE is seeking an accomplished Head of Finance to join a dynamic, fast–growing privately–owned organisation within the residential development / Property sector. The Role

The Head of Finance position will lead all financial operations, provide strategic leadership and ensure robust financial governance. This senior role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's continued success and expansion.

Key Responsibilities of the Head of Finance:

• Leading the finance function and managing all aspects of financial planning, reporting, and analysis
• Producing financial reports and quarterly Management Accounts
• Developing and implementing financial strategies aligned with business objectives
• Overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes
• Overseeing CIS compliance, VAT Returns and subcontractor payment notices
• Preparing and presenting financial information to directors and external investors
• Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, statutory requirements, and internal controls
• Providing strategic financial insights to support executive decision–making and drive business performance
• Drive continuous improvement that support growth and profitability

Required knowledge and experience for the Head of Finance role:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post–qualification experience
• Proven track record in a senior finance leadership position, ideally within property, construction, or residential development
• Demonstrable experience of budgeting and forecasting with experience of Management Accounts production
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience in financial reporting and statutory compliance
• Exceptional analytical capabilities with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business intelligence
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at board level
• Excellent Excel and Microsoft Office experience.
