What you will bring to the role The successful candidate will bring significant Band 6 physiotherapy experience across a broad range of clinical settings, including musculoskeletal outpatients, long-term conditions, and rehabilitation services. They will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities through experience managing physiotherapists, assistants, and students, while supporting service delivery and maintaining high standards of patient care. Experience in teaching within clinical environments and working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team will also be essential to the role. They will be confident working autonomously and effectively prioritising a complex caseload, with the ability to make decisive clinical decisions on behalf of themselves and others. A strong understanding of clinical governance, evidence-based practice, and the use of audit, outcome measures, and critical appraisal to support service improvement is expected. The role also requires excellent clinical leadership and team-building skills, enabling the successful candidate to contribute positively to both patient outcomes and wider departmental development. Desirable candidates will hold membership with the CSP and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development through relevant validated clinical courses and postgraduate qualifications related to the speciality. Additional postgraduate study in leadership or management, alongside membership of a specialist interest group, would also be advantageous.
