Job Description – Freelance Compliance Officer (Part-time)
Location: Amsterdam (Hybrid: 1 day on-site every 2 weeks)
Contract: Freelance – 6 months
Start date: ASAP
Workload: Part-time (2 days per week)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Freelance Compliance Officer to support an Amsterdam-based organization on a part-time basis. In this role, you will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) , ensuring the organization remains compliant with relevant regulatory frameworks and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on GDPR, Privacy, DORA, and Sanctions regulations
- Monitor regulatory developments and translate them into practical policies and procedures
- Conduct compliance risk assessments and support mitigation strategies
- Support internal audits and regulatory reviews
- Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders across the business
- Work independently while collaborating with Legal, Risk, and Operations teams
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Compliance role
- Strong knowledge of:
- GDPR & Privacy regulations
- DORA (Digital Operational Resilience Act)
- Sanctions frameworks
- Ability to operate autonomously and take ownership of compliance topics
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience within non-life insurance is a plus
Language Requirements
- Fluent in Dutch and English (both required)
