Job summary
Activity Co-ordinator - Band 3 part time three days per week. Are you creative, enthusiastic and passionate about making a positive difference to peoples lives? We are looking for an Activity Co-ordinator to join our multidisciplinary team and provide a varied programme of meaningful, engaging and recovery-focused activities for patients. The successful candidate will work closely with patients, the ward team and members of the multidisciplinary team to develop activities that promote social interaction, wellbeing, independence and recovery. You will take time to understand individual interests, abilities and needs and use this to create activities that patients can engage with on both an individual and group basis. This varied and rewarding role where you will have the opportunity to bring your own ideas and creativity to the ward. Activities may include social, recreational, therapeutic and wellbeing focused sessions. The role is part time working three days per week, and is ideal for someone who is organised, flexible, approachable and able to build therapeutic relationships with patients. Unfortunately, this role does not meet the criteria required to qualify for sponsorship. Main duties of the job

As an Activity Co-ordinator, you will:
- Plan, organise and deliver a varied programme of social, recreational and wellbeing activities for patients.
- Develop activities on both an individual and group basis, taking account of patients' needs, interests, abilities and goals.
- Work alongside the multidisciplinary team including Nursing staff, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Healthcare Assistants to support patients' rehabilitation.
- Encourage patients to participate in meaningful activity and promote social interaction, independence and wellbeing.
- Provide appropriate distraction and activity based interventions for patients who may have cognitive impairment or additional needs.
- Engage with patients within the ward environment to maximise opportunities for recovery.
- Build and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients, families and carers.
- Record patients' participation and engagement in activities and communicate relevant information to the wider clinical team..
- Work flexibly with the wider ward team to ensure activities and meaningful engagement continue outside of Activity Co-ordinator working hours.
