School Cover Mentor (Behaviour and Inclusion) - a rewarding term‑time only education role with a starting salary of £25,000-£27,000 Actual (£27,896 - £30,128 FTE) and mileage included, supporting young people who are disengaged from education to build social and emotional resilience, improve behaviour, and achieve positive academic and personal outcomes through targeted mentoring and inclusion support. The flexibility benefits of agency style supply roles, but with key benefits of working for one organisation across multiple provisions, benefiting from a strong company culture, a wide range of experiences, and a fully salaried role (not pay per day) that offers stability beyond day-to-day cover.
About School Cover Mentors
Think for the Future’s mission is to engage, educate and empower young people to have social and emotional resilience and independence in order to achieve their potential. The pupils we work with are often disengaged from education, close to exclusion or have low aspirations and, at Think for the Future, we offer the opportunity for them to strive and succeed in both their academic and non-academic outcomes, through improvements in resilience, aspirations, behaviour and academic success. To deliver our interventions, we employ relatable individuals who are able to create strong and lasting rapport with these young people and confidently deliver our comprehensive social and emotional resilience programme. Mentors deliver sessions in both group and one-to-one settings, tailored in a way that targets improvements in educational outcomes for the pupils they work with.
Cover Mentors ensure continuity and high-quality provision by covering absences and responding to additional support needs across our services. They work flexibly across Behaviour & Resilience Mentoring, Inclusion Centres and Integrated Behaviour Hubs to maintain a consistent impact for young people.
This role suits adaptable, proactive individuals who thrive in varied classroom settings and can confidently lead and engage groups of pupils. Unlike agency supply roles, our Cover Mentors work for one organisation across multiple provisions, benefiting from a strong company culture, a wide range of experiences, and a salaried role that offers stability beyond day-to-day cover.

Working pattern : 8am–4pm, Monday–Friday (we're big on work-life balance - no work required outside these hours)
Weeks per year : 41 (term‑time only + training days)
Start date : Rolling recruitment with multiple entry points

Working Pattern Expectations
We aim to plan the School Cover Mentor schedule in advance, though this is not always possible due to last-minute absences. When cover is pre-booked, this will be a normal working day. If no cover is scheduled, you will remain on alert until 10am. If no cover is required, the day will be designated as a fully paid non‑working day, reflecting the flexible nature of the role.
Travel Expectations
The role involves regular travel across a wide geographical area to cover a range of Think for the Future provisions, it is therefore imperative that candidates have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle. Where travel extends the working day beyond one hour either side of the contracted 8am–4pm hours, this will usually be compensated through paid non‑working days. Hotel accommodation will be provided where travel distance or time requires it, and all mileage is paid at 28p per mile.
Salary Expectations
This is a salaried role, not an agency or supply position. You will receive an annual salary regardless of whether cover is required on a given day, including paid non‑working days when cover is not needed.

- Inclusion Centre Manager - £29,000 - £40,000 (£32,360 - £44,635 FTE)
Please note that salaries are shown in two ways: the actual salary paid, which reflects the role being term‑time only with school holidays off, and the full‑time equivalent (FTE) salary, which shows what the salary would be if the role were not term‑time only. This is a format commonly used within schools. The starting salary within the band will reflect both the provision placement and the individual’s level of experience, and this will be discussed at the offer stage.
