Second Steps Day Nursery Hanningfield are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to work alongside staff in our home from home nursery. The successful applicant will complete their Level 2 (or L3 depending on their current qualification) in childcare through an apprentice programme with VTS. This is the perfect opportunity for someone wanting a future career in childcare, with on-the-job training. You will have the support of the management team and experienced staff members during this time.
This position is for 30 hours per week to allow our apprentices to complete their additional studies. The nursery is open from 7.00am to 6.30pm - applicants must be able to work between these hours for their allocated 30 hours. Duties: • Planning stimulating activities to help the children in your care thrive and learn.• Supporting both the room leader and other practitioners in the continual improvement of the setting.
• Keeping children safe and promoting their wellbeing.
• Working collaboratively within a supportive team.
• Adhering to all the policies and procedures of the setting.
• Developing and maintaining positive relationships with children, families, colleagues and external agencies.
• Completing a qualification in childcare, alongside working 30 hours per week. We offer excellent pathways to develop and progress your career and all successful applicants will participate in a full company induction program with ongoing in-house and external training opportunities. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, so successful candidates must be willing to undergo child protection screening (Enhanced DBS).
