We offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nurse to take up the role as Sister/Charge Nurse at Interventional Radiology in Charing Cross Hospital.

The band 6 sister / charge nurse will play an integral part in leading the team according to our trust values and ensuring the delivery of high quality patient care within this innovative environment. • Independently manage a group of patients and provide leadership within the speciality collaborating with the MDT to deliver individualised and personalised direct patient care.
• Demonstrate adequate practice and specialist knowledge in the assessment, planning, and implementation of patient care. This will include history taking, physical examination, evaluate patients and relative’s needs, ensure patient is adequately prepared and safe for the agreed interventional procedure.
• Adequate assessment and specialist care of the conscious – sedated patient. Responsible and correct administration within line with local and trust policies of conscious sedation.
• Responsible for the correct administration, disposal and storage of medicines and blood products. Thorough knowledge of frequently used drugs within the department, showing understanding of potential complications and side effects, and their management.
• Demonstrate safe practice and knowledge in the recovery and care of post anaesthetic patients including level 2 patients. Ensure safe and effective care for complex patients.
• Develop and utilise highly specialised skills to deliver adequate support and care to patients and MDT within the interventional suite. Oversee and actively involved in scrubbing and assisting interventional practitioners
