Private Client Tax Director

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a Private Client Tax Director to join a leading firm of Chartered Accountants in Bury St Edmunds, offering flexible working, a generous company pension, and much more. This role represents a fantastic opportunity for a technically strong and commercially minded Private Client Tax Director to take ownership of a substantial portfolio, lead and develop a talented team, and contribute directly to the strategic growth of the tax function. The successful candidate will play a key role at leadership level within a firm that values ambition and rewards success.

What is the day–to–day of the role:
- Lead and manage a significant portfolio of private clients, including high net worth individuals and trusts
- Provide strategic tax planning advice across income tax, capital gains tax, and inheritance tax
- Oversee and develop the private client tax team, including mentoring and technical training
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, introducers, and other professional contacts
- Contribute to business development initiatives and support the strategic growth of the department
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- CTA qualified with significant post–qualification experience at a senior or director level
- Previous experience working within a UK Practice environment
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing a team
- Excellent technical knowledge of private client tax compliance and advisory work
- Commercially astute with strong business development capability
