Practice Nurse (Locum) - Primary Care
Location: Caerphilly
Contract: Ongoing Locum (2 Days per Week)
Rate: £20 - £24 per hour (DOE)
Start: Immediate / ASAP

Overview
We are currently supporting a GP practice in Caerphilly with the requirement for an experienced Practice Nurse to provide ongoing locum cover.

This requirement has arisen due to long-term sickness absence, offering a stable and consistent opportunity within a well-organised primary care environment.

The role offers regular weekly sessions with a focus on structured immunisation and diabetes management clinics.

Clinical Responsibilities
The successful clinician will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care across the following areas:

Childhood Immunisations

* Delivery of scheduled immunisation programmes (where competent)
* Patient and parent education in line with national guidance

Chronic Disease Management

* Diabetes reviews and structured care planning
* Ongoing monitoring and patient support

Treatment Room Activity

* Wound care and dressings (as clinically appropriate)
* General treatment room duties within competency

Preventative Care

* Health promotion and patient education
* Support with long-term condition optimisation

Requirements

* NMC-registered Practice Nurse
* Proven experience within primary care settings
* Competent in childhood immunisations
* Experience in diabetes and chronic disease clinics
* Confident working autonomously within a GP practice
* Experience using EMIS, SystmOne, or Vision
* Enhanced DBS

Working Pattern

* 2 days per week (flexible scheduling)
* Ongoing requirement due to sickness cover
