Position Overview
The Teacher of Geography (Maternity Cover) will teach Geography across Key Stages 3–5, including GCSE/IGCSE and A Level, delivering high-quality lessons that promote excellent progress and outcomes. The role includes supporting students' academic and pastoral development, contributing to curriculum planning, and actively participating in the wider life of the school while upholding its Catholic ethos and safeguarding responsibilities. T his maternity cover position may be offered on either a full-time or part-time basis, depending on the experience, availability and suitability of the successful candidate.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
A recognised degree in Geography, or a related field, from an accredited university, and a PGCE, QTS or other internationally recognised teaching qualification.
At least three years’ experience teaching Geography across KS3–5, with a proven track record of I/GCSE and A Level examination success.
Experience of teaching Cambridge International Geography would be an advantage.
Strong knowledge of effective teaching, learning, assessment and data analysis to improve student outcomes.
Ability to support and challenge students of all abilities, including those with SEND.
Up-to-date knowledge of Safeguarding and Child Protection practices.
Be an excellent team player, supportive of the Catholic ethos, values and aims of the school, and committed to the holistic education of children.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach Geography across Key Stages 3–5, including GCSE/IGCSE and A Level classes, ensuring high-quality learning experiences and excellent student progress.
Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons that support strong attainment
Contribute to the development of schemes of work, teaching resources, assessment practices, marking policies and departmental teaching strategies.
Monitor, assess and record student progress accurately, using assessment information to inform planning and improve outcomes.
Keep accurate records of students' progress and utilise both formative and summative assessment processes effectively.
Meet with parents, staff and students to discuss progress, targets and support strategies, where required.
Provide effective communication with parents, including written reports and attendance at parents' evenings and other meetings.Uphold school policies relating to behaviour, attendance, safeguarding, and child protection.

Competitive salary ranging from CI$3,200 - CI$4,000 per month, tax-free, based on experience and qualifications.
