Postal Delivery Driver

Location: Hendon Delivery Office, NW4 4AA

Job type: Fixed Term contract 9 months

Salary: £16.24 per hour * (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 30 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – working over two shift patterns 8:30 -14:30 or 14:00 to 20:00. this will be discussed at interview in more detail.

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Sundays at The Hyde Delivery Office on a rota basis of 1 in 4 between 11:30 - 18:10

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily
• Working in all weather conditions
• Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels
• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances , climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently

*Please note: For candidate search purposes, roles offering between 35-37 hours per week are listed as full-time. However, any role under 37 hours per week will be classified as part-time in the employment contract.
