The Opportunity We're looking for an Event Engineer to support the delivery of world-class live sports broadcasting and transmission services across major sporting events globally. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring extensive travel, practical technical expertise and a strong understanding of broadcast technology. You will be responsible for deploying, testing and supporting transmission and connectivity solutions on-site at live sporting events, ensuring high-quality broadcast delivery for rights holders and broadcasters worldwide. The role requires approximately 70% travel throughout the year, often supporting large-scale international broadcasts in demanding environments. What You'll Be Doing Deploy and support broadcast transmission infrastructure at live sporting events Install, configure and test fibre, network and video transmission equipment Rack and commission technical equipment both in-house and on-site Build, test and repair engineering cabling where required Configure and support video encoding and decoding solutions Troubleshoot broadcast, transmission and connectivity issues under live event conditions Work closely with customers, broadcasters and production teams Support IP-based video contribution and distribution workflows Prepare and test equipment prior to deployment Essential Experience Must Have Live broadcast engineering experience Broadcast transmission experience Fibre connectivity experience Knowledge of video encoding and decoding Understanding of IP networking fundamentals Practical engineering experience including rack builds, cabling and equipment installation Strong troubleshooting skills Customer-facing experience Ability to travel internationally for approximately 70% of the year Desirable Experience Knowledge of transmission platforms such as Nimbra Remote production workflows Satellite communications Sports broadcasting experience Contribution and distribution network experience
