At Action for Children, we offer more than just a job. Join us and you’ll be part of a team dedicated to giving children safe and happy childhoods. See how your skills can make a real difference, helping solve the problems children and young people face every day.
A bit about the role
Our Residential Support Workers create a safe and supportive environment for children and young people to grow and develop. You will ensure their wellbeing is prioritised by delivering personalised care, guidance, and advocacy. It is key that they stay safe and healthy and can reach their full potential.
About the service
Here at Beaumonds, our culture is unique – we are more than a team, we really are a family! Not only do we want the best for those we support but we want the best for you,
We are a 5 bedroom short breaks home of 8 to 18-year-old children with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, or complex needs.
In what other job do you get paid to go on fun days out, get paid with an impressive benefits package, have the opportunity for fully paid training and access to a variety of social groups, fundraising events with like-minded colleagues and friends? With us, you'll be developed and be part of the caring and committed community of social care professionals.
How you'll help to create brighter futures
We are now seeking a Residential Support Worker to help us maintain the high standards of care and personal development our young people have come to expect. We are seeking enthusiastic, self-motivated individuals to join our supportive team! These are excellent opportunities to support activities and sessions providing quality care for children in need. You will achieve this by:
- Getting involved in lots of fun activities both within the project and out in the community.
- Assisting with personal care and daily routines of the young people.
- Supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes.
- Safeguarding young people.
- Helping coach young people to develop essential life skills such as cooking, cleaning, and money matters.
Let's talk about you as a Residential Support Worker
Whether you're an experienced Residential Support Worker or looking to build on transferable skills from a caring and supportive role, it's your values, resilience, and commitment to improving young people's lives that matter most to us.
Experience of working with children and young people in a residential setting is highly desirable, as it provides a strong foundation for the role. However, if you are passionate about creating brighter futures, have the right attitude, and are ready to learn, we would still love to hear from you.
This could be the perfect opportunity to make a real difference every day.
Ideally you will
- Understand how to engage with young people.
- Have a positive approach and ‘can do' attitude.
- Ability to work on your own or as part of a team.
- Be ready to complete a level 3 in Residential Childcare within 2 years of commencing employment with us, full support will be provided.
Why Action for Children?
Every child should have a loving home, food, warmth, the chance to grow and learn - the support to cope with life’s challenges. But too many children don’t. By bringing your passion and unique skills and experience, you’ll help us change that where it really matters.
We've been driven by love to take action for children for over 150 years, giving them the protection and practical help they need. A lot’s changed since 1869. But what children really need, hasn’t. So as long as children need us, we’ll be here.
Will you join us?
If you require any support with the application process, please contact Scott Jones at ***email_hidden*** quoting reference 13798
Diversity, equality and inclusion
At Action for Children, we’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels respected, valued, and able to thrive. We know that racism and discrimination create barriers, and we’re taking active steps to challenge these inequalities in our organisation and in the communities we serve.
We strongly welcome applications from people who are Black, Asian, or from other racialised and ethnically marginalised communities, as well as disabled people, who are currently under‑represented in our workforce. We are committed to removing barriers in our recruitment processes and ensuring fair access to opportunities.
We also encourage applications from men, who are under‑represented in our Children’s Services roles. We recognise that people hold multiple identities, and we value the richness this brings to our team.
