CNC Turner Programmer Setter Operator Location: Coventry

The Role We are looking for a highly skilled and confident CNC Turner Programmer Setter Operator to join the team. This is not a straightforward production role. The company works predominantly on specialist, small-batch components, meaning you will be heavily involved in programming, setting and operating CNC lathes, with a significant amount of programming required both online at the machine and offline. You will need to be an experienced engineer who is comfortable working from engineering drawings, understanding complex components and taking ownership of your work from programming through to finished inspection. Key responsibilities include: Programming, setting and operating CNC lathes.
Producing specialist, small-batch precision components.
Programming both online at the machine and offline.
Creating and modifying CNC programmes to suit individual components and batch requirements.
Using Edgecam for offline programming - essential.
Working with FANUC controls - essential.
Selecting appropriate tooling, workholding and cutting parameters.
Setting machine tools and establishing datums and offsets.
Proving out programmes safely and efficiently.
Carrying out first-off and in-process inspection.
Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
Working to tight tolerances and maintaining consistently high standards of quality.
Troubleshooting machining issues and making programme or tooling adjustments where required.
Taking responsibility for producing components right first time.About You The successful candidate will be an experienced CNC Turner / CNC Lathe Programmer Setter Operator who is confident working with specialist components and small-batch production. You will need to be someone who can think for themselves, solve problems and confidently programme and set machines, rather than simply operating established programmes. Essential experience: Strong CNC Turning / CNC Lathe experience.
Proven experience of programming, setting and operating CNC lathes.
Edgecam experience - essential.
FANUC controls experience - essential.
Experience working within a small-batch, high-precision engineering environment.
Strong engineering drawing interpretation skills.
Ability to work to tight tolerances.
A confident and methodical approach to machining specialist components.The following would be advantageous: Experience machining complex or highly specialist components.
Experience with a variety of CNC turning machinery.
Strong knowledge of tooling and cutting parameters.
Experience with offline programming and CAD/CAM systems.
