Teaching Assistant

Salary: £92 - £115 per day GSL Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education setting in York, from September. This is an exciting opportunity to support young people with additional needs within a caring and inclusive environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping pupils develop academically, socially, and emotionally, while supporting them to achieve their individual goals and reach their full potential. About the Role As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and specialist teams to provide tailored support to pupils, helping create a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment. Your responsibilities will include: * Supporting pupils with their learning, development, and wellbeing.
* Providing 1:1 and small group support where required.
* Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
* Supporting pupils with additional needs, including communication, sensory, and behavioural needs.
* Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive engagement in school life.
* Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
* Supporting the creation of a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment. The Ideal Teaching Assistant Will Have: * Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational, care, or support setting.
* A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
* A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
* A proactive attitude and willingness to support individual needs.
