Early Years Stronger Practice Adviser for Childminder Provision

£400 per day
Temporary
This is a fixed term opportunity until March 2028.

Are you an experienced childminder looking to share your expertise, coach fellow practitioners, and drive up quality across the early years sector?

Tyneside Early Years Hub are looking to recruit a Early Years Stronger Practice Adviser (EYSPA) for Childminder Provision to help make a real difference to young children's development and wellbeing across our region. Delivered via the Early Years Stronger Practice Hubs (EYSPH) as part of the Department for Education's Best Start in Life Strategy, this role empowers you to provide peer-to-peer coaching, build professional confidence, and support childminders who need targeted guidance to thrive.

Every child deserves the best start in life. Building on the proven impact of the DfE’s previous Experts and Mentors programme, the Early Years Stronger Practice Adviser (EYSPA) programme offers targeted peer coaching to eligible childminders and settings.

As a Childminder EYSPA, you will support a dedicated cluster of four childminders per term, building trusting relationships and helping them embed evidence-informed, sustainable improvements.

Taking on an EYSPA role is an incredible opportunity to develop professionally while remaining rooted in early years practice:
  • Your setting receives £400 per day (via a Section 14 grant) to cover release time and expenses.
  • Attend mandatory, fully funded face-to-face training delivered by White Rose Education, along with ongoing virtual CPD opportunities.
  • Deepen your expertise in adult mentoring, diagnostic-led action planning, and setting-to-setting guidance.
  • Work closely with your local EYSPH Lead, Local Authorities, Family Hubs, and a wider network of early years professionals.
  • Directly contribute to narrowing the disadvantage gap and boosting children's communication, language, and emotional wellbeing across your region.

Expected Interview Dates - 14th and 15th September 2026.

Specific training for this role will be delivered on Friday 16th October and Wednesday 4th November 2026.

Please speak to your current employer before applying to ensure they support this arrangement.
