Job summary
Are you an experienced HCPC registered Psychologist seeking a new challenge in a brand new pathway? We're looking for a Senior Clinical or Counselling Psychologist role within our newly established Intensive Case Management (ICM) Pathway . This innovative service will provide high-quality, person-centred care to individuals with complex mental health needs who may struggle to engage with traditional services. Operating across Oxford, the team will deliver proactive, flexible support, responding to needs in a timely and coordinated manner. The Intensive Case Management Pathwayis founded on active engagement rather than office-based care. Staff will work flexibly across the county, supporting individuals in community settings, their homes or Trust premises. Interventions will be tailored, relationship-focused and recovery-oriented, promoting continuity, trust and consistent engagement. Shared caseload responsibility, alongside a key worker model and regular MDT reviews, will enable rapid responses to relapse, risk and disengagement. We are seeking motivated and compassionate professionals who are committed to supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our communities. Working alongside Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Consultant Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Support Workers and Clinical Leads, you'll be part of a collaborative team where every profession plays a key role in supporting recovery. Our Intensive Case Management and Rehabilitation Pathway has been designed to provide flexible, assertive outreach for adults and older adults with complex mental health needs who may struggle to engage with traditional services. Rather than expecting people to come to us, we meet them where they are - building trusting relationships and providing support in their homes, local communities and other settings where they feel comfortable. As a team, we share responsibility for supporting our service users through regular multidisciplinary discussions, collaborative decision-making and a strong focus on continuity of care. You'll have the opportunity to work creatively alongside colleagues from a range of professional backgrounds, developing holistic interventions that address mental and physical health, social needs and recovery goals together. The Psychologist for the Intensive Case Management (ICM) Pathway provides psychological expertise to support the delivery of high-quality, recovery-focused and evidence-based care for adults with psychosis and complex mental health needs who experience significant challenges in engaging with services. You will:
- Provide specialist psychological assessments of referred clients based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources.
- Plan and implement formal psychological treatment and/or management of a client's mental health problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the client's problems, and employing methods of proven efficacy.
- Implement a range of psychological interventions for individuals, carers, families, and groups, adjusting and refining psychological formulations drawing upon different explanatory models and maintaining a number of provisional hypotheses.
- Contribute to the triage of referrals to the ICM team and consider the appropriate level of treatment.

- Doctoral qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (or equivalent) with current HCPC registration.
- Post-doctoral qualification in a clinically relevant area and/or BABCP accreditation (or eligibility).

- Significant experience of specialist psychological assessment, formulation and evidence-based interventions for adults with severe and/or complex mental health difficulties, including psychosis.
- Experience of working within Community Mental Health Teams, Rehabilitation or Intensive Case Management services.

- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of psychological therapies, risk assessment, formulation and consultation, with the ability to apply these to complex clinical presentations.
- Knowledge of national policy, guidance or service models relating to psychosis, rehabilitation or Intensive Case Management.

- Experience of working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, providing consultation, supervision and psychologically informed leadership to colleagues.
- Experience of leading service development, quality improvement, audit or research projects.
