Head of Mathematics

£32.92k - £51.05k per annum
Full-time

The Heights Burnley seek to appoint a Head Of Maths on a full time and permanent to start in January 2027.

What does this job do?

  1. To lead, develop and manage the Mathematics department, ensuring the delivery of a broad, balanced, relevant and ambitious curriculum that meets the needs of all students.

  2. To provide strategic direction and professional leadership for Mathematics, securing high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across the department.

  3. To monitor and support the academic and personal development of students within the department.

  4. To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.

  5. To foster a culture of high expectations, inclusion and continuous improvement.

  6. To contribute to whole-school improvement and support the vision, values and strategic priorities of the school and Trust.

What are the job requirements?

  1. Qualified Teacher Status

  2. Educated to Degree level or equivalent, in related subject

  3. Other qualification/Continuous Professional Development specific to secondary school teaching.

We are a 5-16 Alternative Provision School. Our provision caters for those pupils who have found it difficult to achieve in a mainstream school.
