Job Overview
The Mental Health Act is complex and interesting. Understanding those complexities and maintaining an interest are both key to the success of the role and to ensuring the Trust receives a service that delivers and is responsive not only to service demands but also to changes in legislation.
The Mental Health Act Office undertakes to deliver a service that ensures the Trust’s compliance with the legalities of both the Act itself and the Code of Practice. Under the direction of the Senior Mental Health Act Administrator and direct management of the Deputy to the above, the Mental Health Act Administrator is expected to provide a professional, efficient and seamless service to the Trust in accordance with the requirements of the Act.
The success of the role and the performance of the central Mental Health Act Office is dependent on the MHA Administrator’s success in establishing working partnerships with both internal and external bodies, this is an essential element of the role which necessitates communication in matters of both a sensitive and significant nature.
